Intensive Care Requirements:
Becoming Intensive Care Certified is a much more detailed & involved process than achieving Treatment Certification. This is due to the fact that a doctor working on an Intensive Care basis has very little room for error; when the doctor has only a short while to work with the patient, any mistakes that result in lost time can spell disaster. Furthermore, patients who have invested the necessary time & money to travel to a clinic and receive Intensive Care are fully justified in expecting to receive the best possible results, and a failure on the part of the doctor to fulfill the patient’s expectations reflects poorly not only upon the doctor individually, but upon CLEARTM Institute as a whole. For this reason, IC Certification is rigorous, extensive, and granted only to those doctors who have demonstrated complete mastery of the CLEARTM protocols.
To achieve IC Certification, the doctor must:
- Maintain Scoliosis Treatment Certification for at least one year*
- Submit at least two (2) valid Scoliosis Case Studies (above and beyond the first one required to achieve Treatment Certification), each showing a reduction in the average Cobb angles of 25% or greater with the initial Cobb measurements being at least 30 degrees. (Valid case studies accepted require a template be used or treatment protocol video taped and submitted with the addition of pre and post scoliosis x-rays. All case studies submitted after October 1, 2009 will require protocols be video taped.)
- Attend at least one (1) Advanced Scoliosis Workshop, and pass a short Advanced Scoliosis Written Exam
- Spend a minimum of five (5) days training in an IC-certified Scoliosis clinic After achieving IC Treatment
- Certification, the doctor must submit an IC Scoliosis Case Study in video taped format along with the required pre and post scoliosis x-rays on their first patient to CLEARTM Institute within three (3) months, or their IC status will be revoked until this is done
* - the time requirement can be waived if the doctor submits three (3) additional Case Studies, for a total of six. Five of these must demonstrate a reduction in the average Cobb angles of 25% or greater.
