2.    Written Scoliosis Exam

  • The Written Scoliosis Exam must be taken online.

3.    Basic Scoliosis Workshop

  • The Basic Scoliosis Workshop (Part III) must be taken in person.

4.    Scoliosis Case Study

  • Prior to submitting the Scoliosis Case Study, the doctor must possess all of the Required Equipment.  A list of the required equipment to implement the CLEARTM Scoliosis Protocols can be found here.
  • The process & template for submitting a Scoliosis Case Study can be found here.
  • Submit Case Studies to dovoranydoc@clear-institute.org

5.    Practical Scoliosis Exam

  • The Practical Scoliosis Exam must be taken in person; it may be taken after a Basic or Advanced Scoliosis workshop, or any Saturday (subject to availability, minimum two weeks’ prior notice) at the CLEARTM Scoliosis Treatment  Advancement & Research Center in Dallas, Texas.  The cost is $500 per attempt, pass or fail, and it takes approximately 2 hours to finish the exam. Practical Agreement

6.    Training

  • Spend 3 days in a Standard or IC Clinic Training.
  • Doctors must also maintain membership to the CLEARTM Learn site to ensure that they stay up-to-date with the most recent advances in non-surgical scoliosis treatment.

7.    Renewal

  • Maintaining Treatment status requires that the doctor attend one Advanced Scoliosis workshop, and submit one Scoliosis Case Study, every year. One of the Advanced Workshops attended must be a NMR Workshop.  DVD’s of the workshops will be available.
  • The registration fee for the Basic Scoliosis Workshop will be $100 less for repeat attendance.
  • Doctors must maintain ScoliScore Certification.

Intensive Care Requirements:

Becoming Intensive Care Certified is a much more detailed & involved process than achieving Treatment Certification.  This is due to the fact that a doctor working on an Intensive Care basis has very little room for error; when the doctor has only a short while to work with the patient, any mistakes that result in lost time can spell disaster.  Furthermore, patients who have invested the necessary time & money to travel to a clinic and receive Intensive Care are fully justified in expecting to receive the best possible results, and a failure on the part of the doctor to fulfill the patient’s expectations reflects poorly not only upon the doctor individually, but upon CLEARTM Institute as a whole.  For this reason, IC Certification is rigorous, extensive, and granted only to those doctors who have demonstrated complete mastery of the CLEARTM protocols.

To achieve IC Certification, the doctor must:

  1. Maintain Scoliosis Treatment Certification for at least one year*
  2. Submit at least two (2) valid Scoliosis Case Studies (above and beyond the first one required to achieve Treatment Certification), each showing a reduction in the average Cobb angles of 25% or greater with the initial Cobb measurements being at least 30 degrees.  (Valid case studies accepted require a template be used or treatment protocol video taped and submitted with the addition of pre and post scoliosis x-rays.  All case studies submitted after October 1, 2009 will require protocols be video taped.)
  3. Attend at least one (1) Advanced Scoliosis Workshop, and pass a short Advanced Scoliosis Written Exam
  4. Spend a minimum of five (5) days training in an IC-certified Scoliosis clinic After achieving IC Treatment
  5. Certification, the doctor must submit an IC Scoliosis Case Study in video taped format along with the required pre and post scoliosis x-rays on their first patient to CLEARTM Institute within three (3) months, or their IC status will be revoked until this is done

*  The time requirement can be waived if the doctor submits three (3) additional Case Studies, for a total of six.  Five of these must demonstrate a reduction in the average Cobb angles of 25% or greater.
