My daughter is 11 and a gymnast and dancer, she was diagonosed at 10 with 29 degree curve, after being in a boston brace for 14 months, her curve has shot up to over 70. I am looking for an alternative to surgery. They are explaining to me about removing discs, using spinal fusion and and placing a rod from the nape of her neck to the bottom of her spine. She will have no movement to bend unless from the hips. Her dreams of being a gymnast have been shattered. Do you think your center could help her. Do you see children with curves that high? I live in Boston Ma, and would also like to know if there is a center closer to me, but I would travel if I had too. I have all her records, MRI's and Xrays on hand. Could someone please let me know if this would be an alternative for her. Thank You so much Lisa |

Hi Lisa, CLEAR may definitely be an alternative for your daughter. It sounds like her curves are progressing quickly. I would recommend one of our intensive treatment centers. If you go to locate a doctor on the right hand part of your screen, then click on intensive care it will show you locations in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Texas, and North Carolina. If you complete the contact sheet the doctor will contact you be able to address all of your questions. We have seen curves that large, and there is hope! Please let me know if I can further assist you. Dr. Bosler |
