I am a 34yr old female who has had neck pain and spasms (paraspinals through cervical area) for 5 years. Last May, it became so severe that I have been virtually bedridden since from the pain and lack of motion. I was finally diagnosed with scoliosis last fall. Since and before the dx, I have had trigger point injections, myoblock (botox) injections, and just had 4 facet blocks done last week. So far, all to no avail. The only thing that helps temporarily-like for a couple of hours- is traction and lots of muscle relaxer meds. I have been considering the Spinecor brace, but then came across the CLEAR institute. I have very limited funding and cannot afford both. Has anyone had success with the Spinecor system to any degree? If anyone is willing to share this info, how much does the CLEAR system as a whole (clinic treatment + traction chair at home) cost? Thanks tons in advance-- Marie

My son wears the Spinecor brace with some degree of help but he's 14 and still growing so I cant say if it would be of any help. Most of the other people we see are kids and from what I've been told it works better on people that still have some growing to do. I wish I could tell you more but thats all I know from what I've been told by his Spinecor Doc |

Hi Granolachick, What I can tell you from my personal experience in utilizing the CLEAR technique as a treating doctor is that regardless of the size of the curves and age of the patient, I have seen a tremendous reduction in pain across the board. I do not have any person experience with the Spinecor brace, so I cannot offer my experience with such. The treatment cost varies per office and location. If you click on theLOCATE a doctor, you are welcome to ask that specific doctor for their fees. The scoliosis traction chair is around $3700.00 but is truly priceless in the battle against scoliosis. It allows for traction and derotation of the spine and re education of the nervous system. Please let me know if I can answer any specific questions for you. Yours in health, Dr. Sue Bosler |

My 15-year-old daughter has been doing the Clear Method treatment for 2 years. Since she is still growing, it is a battle, but last Spring ('08) after a week at the Minnesota clinic, her thoracic curve came down 12 degrees. Later it jumped up again but not past the point where it was originally (very big curve). We feel that we are keeping the scoliosis stable. Although the progress is slow, the fact that her curve is not increasing is success to me. People with the smaller curves (around 50 and below) have much greater success quicker; I know because I have been to the Minnesota clinic 4 times and have talked to the moms there and seen the xrays. We do the traction chair twice a day plus we have some of the other equipment at home. |
