Hey there,

I am 14(almost 15 ;)) years old. I have a lower back curve of 45 degrees (at the last xray) and an upper one of about 25 degrees i believe. My doctor reccomended surgery, which scared me a little. So i started looking up alternative treatments. My question is, in a few years my plan was to go into the military, until i found out that with my curve being this bad, they wont even consider you for enlistment. In order for me to be able to do that, my lower curve would have to improve to 20 degrees or less... do you thing this is possible with these treatments?

As I was reviewing the forum, I could not locate my response to you phipot. I thought I might answer you again just in case.
If you review the forum, you will see that we offer hope. Hope that you can return to your dreams. When in intensive treatment, or any treatment offered, we are striving to reduce the scoliosis by at least 30 percent if not more. After a CLEAR certified doctor examines your spine and reviews your x-rays they can give you a much more educated assessment of realistic goals for your spine. I would encourage you to seek an evaluation of your spine so you can continue to plan your future.
As always I appreciate the duty and sacrifice of all who defend our country.
I wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dr. Bosler
