Hello;
Yes, it is possible for scoliosis to develop after a traumatic injury such as a car accident. A Case Report was published in the Lancet on March 5, 2005, about a 7-year old boy who developed scoliosis after an automobile collision. It is also possible for an existing scoliosis to worsen after this type of injury; I have spoken with numerous patients who had a mild curvature that destabilized and became progressive after an accident.
The good news is, the CLEAR methods are especially effective in cases of traumatic scoliosis. The CLEAR Scoliosis Seminars include a great deal of information on the topic of muscular and ligamentous injury, and our protocols include specialized adjustments & therapies when ligament damage is diagnosed.
If there is any additional information or assistance I may provide, please do not hesitate to contact me via this forum or directly at jwoggon@clear-institute.org.
Warmest Regards,
Dr. Josh Woggon
