I am a mother of 12 year old girl. We just came back from Lititz Pennysyvania for a two week intensive treatment. When we left to go thousands of miles away from home, my daughter had acurve of 55/49 and a candidate for surgery.
At the end of two weeks, her curve had been reduced to 49/35. Besides the numbers, my daughter is taller and stands staight. She loves fashion and now she is able to enjoy her clothes and you can bearly tell she has scolliosis.

She is so much happier. She is very glad she does not have to wear a brace. She is very stable and balanced on the ground and does not fall and lose her balance easily like before.

I cannot say enough about Dr Clayton and his staff. The moment you step in the office to the time you leave, you feel and see a collective, dedicated group of caring people who do whatever they do with passion.

I am so greatful we found Clear Institute, the surgery is no longer an option. We still have a a lot of work to do but we have hope. We have started the home rehabiltaion regiment from Dr Clayton to build on.

If you or have a child that have scolliosis, don't even wait until "THEY" tell you that she or you need surgery, or for that matter if you are considering surgery, pause for moment and check out what Clear Institute has to offer, you will be suprising pleased as I did with my daughter.

We are on our way to a better days.

Dear TOS Mom,

I am so happy to hear your daughter is starting to improve!!!!

My daughter has been doing the Clear therapy plan for almost a year now. It definitely has been a mountain to climb. After YOU GET THAT INTENSIVE 2 WEEK JUMP START, ONCE HOME,you cannot measure the change in days ... over the weeks..slowly ..the spine starts making these subtle changes..it feels almost like a fight against the scoliosis sometimes. It wants to win.

Persistence and patience are KEY!!!!!

We've gotten little milestones along the way..

Once my daughter came up to me and said "Mom, it is so weird I can feel my lower back is trying to curve out " (she had a minimal NORMAL lumbar curve )..and the Clear plan was addressing the fact that she was missing that NORMAL (sideview) curve. And slowly, over time, it does look much better.

Another example,
normally I would use her hump to know where to place the traction chair lumbar strap...NOW I can't find the hump it is so small!!!!!
Somedays I can find a small hump, but more and more frequently, it is just a slight rise in the back.

So slowly gradually the back muscles are starting to BALANCE out..but it is slow going!! Be patient!!!

I encourage you as you start this process.

My daughter has loved the NO DAILY pain and NO BRACE. The a.m. /p.m. exercises have become meshed into our lives now...

we are looking forward to another 2 week intensive session in May !!

Wishing you all the best ,
Mary Lane

Daughter Christina(just turned 18)

Does your daughter use the scoliosis chair, or has her progress been accomplished through exercises and treatment?

YES, she is using the traction chair in the morning and evening for 30. min. each time.
We follow the program very faithfully. All the elements work together to make a healthier spine.

artgirl,

You may want to go to the home page, on the right hand side, press TESTIMONIALS,....Rosemarie(65 year old retired professor) talks about the results she had after a two week intensive in Minnesota.

If I may,
Each case is different. It would depend on the severity of the curves and the stability of her spine. It could be easily answered by her treating Intensive doctor.

Artgirl and Logan,
So glad that both of you are using the web site =)

Artgirl, it is so great to be able to watch your progress. I often wonder how many follow up with treatment. CLEAR is continuing to learn and grow, making strides to improve the lives of all those touched by scoliosis.

Logan, I understand that you are scared going in to this...I promise you, it will be okay. Dr. D is fantastic and will do all that he can to improve your scoliosis. I have been through all the adjustments and in the scoliosis traction chair too. Take your favorite DVD's and time will pass quickly while in the chair.

Thanks for encouraging Kera, I took my time answering in hopes that she would get some encouragement from others who are also being treated.

You sound like a fantastic girl and you will do well. Dr. Lindholm and Dr. Dovorany are great docs. You are in good hands.

I wish you both all the best and will keep you in my prayers.

Dr. Bosler

Hi Artgirl - I am a 69 year old male who has just started treatment, and I also would like to hear of results from the CLEAR treatments on older adults. Since you started treatment 5-6 months ago, what has been your progress? Do you still do daily therapy/exercise? Any input would be appreciated. Larry

larry, i just returned from another intensive therapy session. i am waiting for the results of my x rays. this is the 4th time i've had therapy. the lastest improvement was an 7 degree decrease. i have a 51 degree curve. i do my exercises twice a day and the chair twice, morning and night. i do still have back pain. i also would like to hear from someone who has gone for a while and is maintaining their improvements. but i think this process is not that old and is experimental. artgirl
