The EOS 3-D: a Revolution in X-Ray Imaging

The effectiveness of CLEAR Institute's method of scoliosis correction is both dependant upon and verified by the objective evidence obtained through x-ray imaging.  By taking precise, standardized views from the front & the side, we then use these two-dimensional films to determine the most effective methods of rehabilitating each individual spine, and also to document the results scientifically.  However, with the advent of an incredible new innovation pioneered by Biospace Med that creates an actual three-dimensional picture of the patient's skeleton, the accuracy & quality of x-ray imaging can be increased a thousandfold, while significantly reducing the levels of radiation that the patient is exposed to.

The EOS 3-D captures the front and side views of the patient's spine simultaneously, and uses advanced software to generate a three-dimensional rendering of the skeletal anatomy, providing unparalled detail and also a global depiction of the spinal biomechanics, due to the fact that, unlike a CT scan, these images are captured in a weight-bearing environment.  In addition, the EOS 3-D exposes the patient to 100 to 1,000 times less radiation than a CT scan.  A scoliosis patient can be monitored with the EOS 3-D for five years, and receive an equal amount of radiation that they would normally be exposed to with a single traditional full-spine x-ray.

Biospace Med is an international company based in Paris that was founded by Georges Charpak, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1992.  The EOS system was invented with the collaboration of spine specialist Jean Dubousset, and its accuracy has been verified through several research studies, including articles published in one of the most prestigious scientific journals worldwide, Spine.  On Monday, April 7th, CLEAR Institute had the honor & privilege of meeting with Richard diMonda, the Vice President of Global Marketing for Biospace Med, and Dr. Serge Sautre, a practicing chiropractor and consultant to Biospace Med, at the CLEAR Scoliosis Treatment and Research Center in Dallas, Texas, to explore the possibility of using the EOS system in this clinic.  Needless to say, the potential impact of this would be incredible, both in the realm of patient care and also in research opportunities, and well worth the investment.

You can learn more about the EOS 3-D, and also see examples of the rendered images, by visiting www.biospacemed.com; note that in order to view this product, you will need to visit the European website.  This is due to the fact that the EOS 3-D is so cutting-edge that, if the CLEAR Scoliosis Center were to install this system in the clinic, it would be the only one of its kind anywhere in the United States.

Join the "Scoliosis on Oprah" Campaign!

About a month ago, a guest on Oprah mentioned that she had scoliosis, and had endured four spinal surgeries in an attempt to treat her condition.

Teagin Maddox is a talented writer & motivational speaker; she is also a dedicated supporter of CLEAR's work with scoliosis; her own daughter is courageously taking responsibility for her spinal health and achieving remarkable success with the help of her CLEAR-trained chiropractor.  The story of her journey will be published in June in the book, "TEAMWORK," alongside inspirational stories by additional authors such as Dr. Wayne Dyer, Gregory Scott Reid, and Anthony Robbins.

By a stroke of good fortune (or divine providence), Mrs. Maddox happened to be in her chiropractor's waiting room when this show aired.  She, and the family members of several other patients in the room, had their attention immediately captured when they heard the word, "scoliosis," and were riveted in place as they watched the show.  Unfortunately, after the first mention, there was very little additional dialogue about this often-neglected, but all-too-common, condition.

Mrs. Maddox felt called to begin a campaign to encourage The Oprah Show to dedicate a program to the topic of scoliosis, both to increase public awareness and also to educate people about the non-surgical treatment options that are seldom mentioned by orthopedic surgeons.  Over 300 letters have already been sent to Oprah supporting this campaign.

If you are interested in supporting this life-changing mission, please click on the link below to be taken directly to the page that allows you to submit an idea for a show.  You can write as few as 2 or 3 paragraphs, or as many as 2,000 words, to describe your request; the goal is to capture the producer's attention and convince them of the interest & the demand.

Don't be scared off by the words "BeOnTheShow" in the link; it's simply the section under which the show request form is listed, and, by submitting a request for a show, you are under no obligation to appear on television.

If you would like assistance in drafting your letter, Teagin has generously offered to donate her own time to help others put their thoughts & experiences into written form.  You can contact her, and also read more of the books & articles she has written, at www.teaginmaddox.com.  Stay tuned for future newsletters, which will offer the chance to obtain a copy of Teagin's upcoming book, "TEAMWORK," and read about her incredible story!

An Interview with the Founder of CLEAR Institute

The American Chiropractor, America's most widely-read chiropractic magazine, recently unveiled their April issue, which features the topic of scoliosis treatment & adjunct therapies.  For this issue, the magazine interviewed Dr. Dennis Woggon, the founder of CLEAR Institute, about his experiences in treating scoliosis through advanced chiropractic care.  If you can't find a copy of this issue in your chiropractor's waiting room, you can access the article online at www.theamericanchiropractor.com.

New Doctors Join the Battle against Scoliosis!

The Scoliosis Correction Seminar series in Connecticut concluded with the workshop on March 8th, introducing dozens of new doctors to the advanced methods of spinal rehabilitation taught only through CLEAR Institute.  This seminar had an incredible turn-out, thanks hugely to the invaluable support & assistance provided by the Connecticut Chiropractic Association, and we look forward to returning in the near future to host a second seminar series to accomodate those doctors who had to be turned away due to the limited space available.  A special "Thank You" goes out to Kristin Kasabucki, the Executive Director of the CCA, without whose efforts the seminar would never have been the phenomenal success that it was.

The doctors below, having completed the Scoliosis Correction Seminar series, have their contact information listed on the online CLEAR Institute DC Locator resource, and are recommended by CLEAR Institute for consultations ONLY.  CLEAR Institute is not an organization of chiropractors who try to fix scoliosis, but of chiropractors who DO fix scoliosis.  For this reason, we have created a comprehensive and rigorous certification process that the doctor is required to undergo before being granted permission to style themselves as an ELITE CLEAR-certified Doctor.  Several of the doctors below are currently going through this process; they will be featured & announced in a subsequent newsletter once they have received full certification, and will thus recommended by CLEAR Institute to treat scoliosis in strict accordance with our established protocols.

The doctors who completed the Scoliosis Correction Seminar series in full are listed below, and grouped according to the state in which they practice.  If you are interested in scheduling a consultation with the doctor nearest you, you may obtain their complete contact information by clicking on the link below:
