| My daughter lives in Whispering Pines, NC (Zip 28326) I was diagnosed about 20 years ago by a chiropractor who told me that I had scoliosis, but at the time he said there was no need for treatment as I was not displaced. He stated that it would happen as I got older. He was right ! We moved from southern maryland to chesapeake, VA five years ago and the stress oif moving plus a very contankerous neighbor next door threw me into a flare. Scoliosis came on me in a six month period where I bent over severly to the right and also bent .forward. During this time I went from being 5'8" to 5'4-1/2". The pain is excrusiating. I went to Ortho Drs. who told me I was not a candidate for surgery and prescribed a rigid brace which I call a monster. I cannot wear it . It is too painful. My chiro dr. has worked on me but offers only minimal relief. Is there a NC Dr. nearby who is certified by Clear? Please help. My daughter said I could stay with her during initial treatment if one is in the area. Thank You. |

Hi Hope, (great name by the way  )
As far as I know Dr. Brian Kean is the closest doctor. He is fantastic, I would highly recommend a consultation with him. As I am sure you are aware, each case is unique. He can let you know what a realistic treatment schedule/outcome would be for your spine.
If you have a trusted Doctor of Chiropractic in your area, you may want to discuss the CLEAR technique with them. We would love to see more doctors get involved.

I live in Carolina Beach, NC which is near the Wilmington area on the southeast coast of North Carolina. We have very many Chiropractic and Orthopedic Doctors located in Wilmington. Is there any news of any doctors from this area becoming Clear Certified for scoliosis treatment?
I am 51, diagnosed at age 14 with an S-curve, was non-compliant with a Milwalkee Brace, never had surgery and my back pain is worsening. I am a Registered Nurse and work on an Orthopedic Surgical Floor. Time off is very valuable and difficult to come by. I just discovered this treatment option. I have investigated the spinecor option but no docs in NC for that treatment and I could not imagine myself wearing another brace.
Anyway would like some information.
