Please allow me to apologize for taking so long to answer your question. I am truly sorry.
As a parent, I understand that you want the best for your daughter. CLEAR offers a non-bracing, non- surgical approach. It sounds as though your daughter has a rapidly increasing scoliosis which of course, needs to be addressed as soon as possible.
Dr. Will Kalla is a very good doctor and is located in Singapore, and of course you would have several options if you chose to travel to the US. As of now, these are your two best options. If you look to the right on the CLEAR home page you can click on locate a CLEAR certified doctor near you. I would search for Standard- Intensive Certified doctor. You have several options across the US including, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Florida, and New York. I would be more than happy to assist you further in finding there addresses if you have difficulty.
While I can not guarantee that the treatment will help your daughter, I can guarantee that I know each of these doctors and they will do everything possible to find the driving force behind your daughter's scoliosis, address it, and do everything they can to first, stop the progression, and then if possible, decrease it.
CLEAR Institute was founded in 2000 by Dr. Dennis Woggon. He continued to educate other doctors on the his approach to the treatment of scoliosis. All of the doctors have undergone a certification process.
As far as I know, there are no side effects from the treatment.
Michelle would need the scoliosis traction chair, it would be important that she have the chair when she returns home from treatment. The doctor would instruct you on how to set up your daughter properly in the chair. So it would not be necessary to use it prior to treatment. It is typically recommended to follow up with treatment in 3 to 4 months following the initial treatment. She would also be instructed on a specific home exercise program following treatment.

My daughter Michelle has been diagnosed with Idiopathic Scoliosis in June this year. She just turned 11 on the 26th Nov and hasn't had her period yet although showing the early signs of puberty. She has been complaining of back pains intermittently over the last 12 months but I did not pay much attention assuming it was from bad posture when reading. One day in June, she persistently asked me to look at her back as she thought it was bruised and that's when I noticed her rib hump. On her first presentation at the Royal Children's Hospital (Melbourne) in September, her Cobb's angle was around 45 deg (thoracic area). On the 10th Nov (2nd visit), her x-ray revealed that the angle has gotten worse at 60 deg. Her MRI results revealed no abnormalities (thank God for that), hence diagnosed as Idiopathic Scoliosis. I was so shocked when the Dr told us the new angle and that our only option is surgery sooner rather than later. We are still waiting for our next appointment (I believe it is in March) and surgery proposed is within 6-12 months depending on the hospital's waiting list. At first I thought, if surgery is the only solution for my daughter then so be it as long as she gets better in the long term. Now that I am able to think a bit clearly, I would like to try non-surgical treatment first and leave surgery as our last option.
We live in Melbourne so treatment would mean travelling overseas. Is Singapore the nearest CLEAR clinic to Australia or should we come to the US? Can you please provide names and addresses of accredited doctors.
Would the intensive 2 week treatment program work for Mihelle?
Are there any side effects from the treatment?
What is the success rate of this program?
If we will be spending a lot of money, how do we know that this treatment has basis. How long has this treatment program been going on and what are the results like?
What guarantee is there that this treatment would work? We don't expect significant reduction so long as Michelle's curve is reduced to get her off the surgery band. I understand Michelle needs the chair but delivery is at least 4 weeks. If she needs the chair after treatment, should the chair be ordered now? Does she need to go back for re-assessment?
Sorry to ask all these questions but I need to get as much information as I can to make decision on how to proceed. I am thinking of coming to Singapore in January hence planning is critical.
For those people who underwent the treatment, can you please let me know that I am not giving my daughter false hopes.
