| I just finished a 2 week intensive program at the Lancaster Spinal Clinic. I am 45 years old and had 3 curves totaling 60 degrees. I got rid of 19 degrees and a lot of neck and back pain. Now I have hope as I continue my home program. It feels good to know that you are not alone. Scoliosis can feel like a very isolating condition. |

There is a high likely hood that something can be done for your son. The CLEAR method has worked successfully for patients with much higher COBB angles than your son has. With average reduction in the 30-50% range. Because your son is relatively young, his spine probably still remains flexable which should allow the treatment to be more effective. Your best bet is to undergo an initial evaluation which will provide an indepth analysis of his individual scoliosis and allow you and your doctor to establish reasonable goals of treatment. If you would like to speak with a doctor personally, please contact CLEAR and they will have a doctor contact you to discuss the specifics of your son's case. Or if you are comfortable, we can dialogue here on the message board or via email. Dr. Michael Farrell |

| I am a 52 year old female who completed the two week intensive care program with Dr. Clayton Stitzel in Pennsylvania last Friday. My thoracic curve went from 68 degrees to 44 degrees. My lumbar curve also improved significantly. I am about an inch taller and my breathing is much improved. The program was $5000, and it was worth every cent. It was truly intensive! I did purchase the chair. It was $3800; I am using it twice a day and doing my other exercises faithfully. My husband says he believes I am continuing to improve. There were several middle-aged and older patients at the clinic who were benefitting from the treatments. I highly recommend the CLEAR method. |

Hi - I'm a 69 year old male with lumbar scoliosis - my Cobb angle is about 50 deg. I'm considering Clear procedure with a chiro. in San Jose, CA area. What has been your experience with the follow-up exercises? Did you buy the "chair", and do you use it daily? What did it cost? What did the treatments cost? Do you know anyone else in our age bracket that has been through the treatment? Larry ldfiel@gmail.com |

Mydella, Yes, there are some cases that don't respond but they are rare. As far as home exercises each patient is given a customized exercise program to help maintain the changes and usually takes about 1/2 hour twice a day. In some cases depending on size of curve and progression rate an STC scoliosis traction chair may be recommended for home use as well. DR Dovorany |

I'm 53 and have a 55 degree curve. I've been looking into the Clear Institute, but have not decided yet. It's interesting to hear your story. I'm from WI and the Dr. here does a two week program with going all day long for treatments. When did you do this? Tell me anything else that you think is important. I've also heard stories of no success. You said you need to do exercises. How often and how long do you do them? thanks,

:)Hello I am 69 years young and was given an opportunity to participate in a 14 week treatment schedule. At the end of this time I have experienced a 13 degree correction and am SO very happy. The personnel are kind, helpful, supportive, and fun. I continue my exercises at home and look forward to a re-check in Sepatember 09. Thank you Lancanster Spinal Health Center, you are and have been a blessing to me. Betty Frederickson. PA :) |
