Topic: CLEAR Results - Success Stories |

Posted By on 24 Jun 2010 02:12 PM I am 57 yrs old and considering the CLEAR method. I only learned about 5 yrs. ago that I have scoliosis. It is currently a 42 degree lumbar curve. While there are success stories of children, teenagers, young adults, their spines/bones are much more flexible than someone my age. While I did speak to 2 CLEAR patients between 30-35yrs old, that still is not my age range. I would love to hear success and non-success stories from patients 50+years old. THANKS! |

Hello, tzulu; Thank you for taking the time to post on the CLEAR Forum! I hope I can be of assistance. DO stands for Doctor of Osteopathy. Were you referring instead to an orthopedic surgeon? Our first research publication is currently listed as the Most Highly Accessed Article of All-Time in its publishing journal (Google "BMC Musculoskeletal Disorders Most Viewed All-Time" to see it for yourself). CLEAR Institute interviewed Dr. James Ogilvie, an orthopedic surgeon with over 40 years of experience and past-president of the Scoliosis Research Society, about his thoughts regarding CLEAR Institute's method of scoliosis correction. You can e-mail me if you would like to receive a copy of this article, or subscribe to the CLEAR Institute Monthly Newsletter. Keep in mind that new ideas always have a difficult time gaining traction at first. At one point scientists believed the earth was flat, the sun revolved around the earth, and medical doctors promoted smoking as good for your health. The "standard medical field" has little interest in learning more about techniques that are outside of their scope of practice. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly or via this forum is there is additional information I may provide! Warmest Regards, Josh Woggon DC Director of Research, CLEAR Institute |

Have any of those people with CLEAR results been to a DO since treatment? I am curious what the response is to the success you have had. I am considering CLEAR, and have been seeing doctors for years regarding my spine. They offer absolutely no help and no hope. Only surgery. Surely if there is evidence of correction, the standard medical field must be taking notice!?!? thoughts anyone? |

Hello; Thank you very much for taking the time to post on the forum and share your stories! It's a pleasure to be of assistance in providing you with the information you are looking for. Marvin was 83 years young when he was interviewed by a couple of chiropractic students interning at St. Cloud Chiropractic Clinic; you can read about his experiences by looking under the "Resources" tab, and clicking on "Articles" - or just paste this into your web browser: http://www.clear-institute.org/Portals/0/docs/InterviewMARVIN2008.pdf Also, Marian, 83, posted her experience with CLEAR Treatment on YouTube; go on to www.YouTube.com and search for "CLEAR Scoliosis Marian" or use this link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tQEALZwqr48 In the most recent research article I co-authored on the CLEAR methods (submitted but not yet accepted), out of 140 patients, there were nine that were 65 years of age or older. Their average Cobb Angle before treatment was 75.4 degrees, and afterwards the average was 51.2 degrees; this is an average reduction of 24.2, or 39.6%, after an average of 12.8 visits. I would be happy to help you find other people similar to your demographic who would like to share their stories; due to patient confidentiality laws, I am prohibited from sharing their contact information, but if you would like to share your contact information privately with me at jwoggon@clear-institute.org, I can provide it to these individuals who have expressed an interest in sharing their experiences and ask them to contact you directly. Also, ArtGirl, I would love the opportunity to hear more about the treatment you are undergoing. Please contact me at jwoggon@clear-institute.org if you would be so kind. I am concerned that you may be under the care of a doctor who could be misrepresenting their affiliation with CLEAR; the results you describe are not what I would expect from our protocols. Thank you again for taking the time to post on the CLEAR Scoliosis Forum! Warmest Regards, Dr. Josh Woggon Director of Research, CLEAR Institute jwoggon@clear-institute.org
