Hi Norma, Scoliosis Traction Chair $3,795.00 it currently is only available for purchase via this web site. It is required for any patients with a curve of 25-30 degrees or greater. It is a critical tool in correctin scoliosis. As far as I know there is not currently a payment plan but I believe if you call CLEAR directly, they may give you ideas for financing. The number is 1 866 520 4270. As far as the measurement of the degree of scoliosis, it the curve is only 40 degrees and not 60, you have a fantastic head start! Young children typically have pretty flexible curves, they truly are pretty comfortable in the chair. 30 minutes twice a day is so much easier than a brace for 23. Especially if you put on an educational video for them or their favorite show. Time will fly quickly. I have put info below regarding the chair if you would like to more about it. Please don't hesitate to contact us with further questions. Dr. Bosler The Scoliosis Traction Chair is designed to be the ultimate tool to address & rehabilitate the scoliotic spine, especially once it has reached the advanced stages (the Cobb angle is above 30 degrees). Traditional approaches to scoliosis such as bracing and surgery have neglected the importance of the cervical spine in affecting spinal pathology, posture, and gait. Scientific research1 has suggested a more optimal approach to achieve the desired corrections; by combining this new information with established principles of chiropractic & biomechanics, along with Whole Body Vibration therapy as a means of retraining the neuro-muscular proprioceptive pathways, effective and permanent corrections to scoliosis can be obtained much more rapidly than with isometric exercises or chiropractic adjustments alone. Scoliosis is often accompanied by evidence of disc degeneration, osteoporosis, congenital malformation, and disc wedging. We believe these to be the symptoms of scoliosis, however, rather than the cause. Whole-Body Vibration therapy helps to address these symptoms in accordance with established laws of biomechanics. Wolf’s Law states that a bone under stress will heal faster; Davis’ Law is the corresponding soft tissue equivalent that declares injured or torn ligaments will also re-heal more efficiently while under stress. Whole Body Vibration has been scientifically proven to increase bone density, relieve pain & inflammation, and increase flexibility by stimulating the various tissues and systems of the body. Research suggests that each tissue of the body – bone, muscle, and collagen – responds most effectively when stimulated by a specific vibratory frequency, and we have incorporated this science into the Scoliosis Traction Chair. Rotation and translation is a coupled motion when it occurs in the spinal column; it is impossible to address one dimension without affecting the other. The Scoliosis Traction Chair is designed to incorporate de-rotation, de-compression, and lateral traction while simultaneously providing stabilization of the posterior thoracic rib arch. It also isolates the trunk rotator muscles ipsilaterally to isometrically rehabilitate and strengthen the weakened core musculature. In short, actively rehabilitating the body for two 30-minute sessions once per day with the Scoliosis Traction Chair is clinically more effective at reducing the Cobb angle than passively stabilizing the scoliotic curve with any brace currently in existence for 23 out of 24 hours each day, provided it is done under the supervision of a doctor or parent who has been instructed in its application and usage. As an added benefit, the Scoliosis Traction Chair has been deliberately designed to be too large to be shoved into a closest or school locker and forgotten. To achieve maximum benefit from the Scoliosis Traction Chair, it is absolutely imperative that the proper cervical and lumbar spinal curves be re-established prior to its use! The lateral scoliotic curves develop in response to the loss of mechanical stability provided by the presence of these normal spinal curves. Without first restoring the normal structure and function to the spinal units above and below the scoliosis, it is impossible to force the spine to straighten. A straight spine is very unstable, and the body will refuse to maintain itself in such a state. Even implantation of a stainless steel rod wired to the vertebrae will not completely cease regression6; the core muscles are so strong that they will bend the rod, rip out the wires, and potentially break even the hardest metal over time. All parts & accessories are covered against the chance of manufacturing defects, shipping damage, and also breakage resulting from normal wear & tear, for a period of up to six (6) months. Reliable motor operation is guaranteed for a period of three (3) years from the date of purchase. On this version of the chair, the motor is attached directly to the chair, and ratchets are included which allow a patient to set themself up in the chair without outside assistance. The Scoliosis Traction Chair is a powerful tool for rehabilitating the scoliotic spine. With the Scoliosis Traction Chair, as with any other piece of advanced rehabilitation equipment, there is the possibility for harm or injury if the device is used incorrectly. By checking the appropriate box below, you attest to one of the following, and agree to hold CLEAR Institute harmless for any bodily harm, injury, or other trauma which may result as a consequence of improper assembly, misuse, or similar error. * I AM A PATIENT, purchasing this chair for my own private benefit. I certify that I have been trained in the proper use of the Scoliosis Traction Chair and its accessories by a licensed doctor, and I agree not to permit the Scoliosis Traction Chair to be used by individuals who have not received this training

Hi Christine,
There is absolutely a chance!!!!!!!!!! The chair ,with the help of a CLEAR trained Chiropractor could make amazing changes. Please put that surgery on hold until you investigate further. Your son is sooo young. He has a lifetime ahead of him. I am the mother of four and have treated children as 6 on the scoliosis traction chair. I do know of a 3 yo currently being treated. I would be happy to answer any question that I can for you!

Please do not put the rods. Many things can happen with the rod and the sugery is very expensive. Trying searching on the internet for chiropractors specializing in scoliosis they can help you out! |
